To close a budget gap created by their own fiscal recklessness, Pennsylvania politicians are seeking to implement several tax hikes throughout the state. From Governor Rendell’s proposal to raise state income taxes by 16 percent to a push by county commissioners and the City of Philadelphia for increased sales taxes, the shameless attempts to fleece Pennsylvania taxpayers in the middle of a recession will continue unabated.
This is unless you TAKE ACTION now to help put a stop to these tax hikes!
Over the last eight years annual spending in Pennsylvania has skyrocketed by nearly 50 percent. Pennsylvania voters and taxpayers should ask themselves whether the quality of state services has increased as well. If state services are not getting better, where is all the money going?
Pennsylvania House speaker Keith McCall (D-Carbon County) reportedly told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that decreasing out of control spending by the amount necessary to avoid a tax hike was not possible. Apparently, “doing so would be unrealistic because school districts have contractual obligations, such as labor agreements with teachers.”
Another example of taxpayers making sacrifices to ensure union employees receive raises and benefits. TAKE ACTION and tell your elected representatives the buck stops here. They have taken enough of your money already, it’s time to end the reckless spending now!
