Event Description

Ed Rendell will be in Bellefonte, Tomorrow, Thursday July 9, at 12:00 Noon, at the Bellefonte High School.

If we can, this would be a great time to let him know that we the citizens are no longer willing to bear the burdens of an out-of-control government.

The government should not be implementing programs, that cannot be paid for in bad economic times. The only way they will ever learn that lesson is if they are forced to cut those programs during such times, just like all the rest of us must do!

Please show up at Bellefonte High School tomorrow to make our voices heard!

I was going to be traveling on business tomorrow, but there is a good chance that the trip will be postponed. If it is, then I will attend!

I cannot attend, but the Blair County Tea Party group wants to know what we're doing for this event. They have members interested in going. I'll be glad to help organize electronically. Let me know any information that I can pass along to them.

I don't know yet what sort of forum this is. Most likely Ed Rendell will show up, give a speech, and will hopefully accept questions.

I asked Kris Eng, and Bette Jackson to try to gather people. I hope we will have signs visible to Governor Rendell, protesting spending and taxation, especially in current hard economic times.

If he takes questions from the public, I intend to ask them. However, politicians are really good at misdirecting their answers, and then moving on to the next questioner without giving an opportunity for a follow-up. So I hope that more than one of us are there to ask questions, and that we each follow-up and reinforce the previous questioner - don't let him get away with a non-answer, demand real answers!

On a related note, this came through today from the PA GOP:

ACTION ALERT: Governor Rendell, Lt. Governor Scarnati on PCN TONIGHT!
TONIGHT, Governor Ed Rendell will be appearing LIVE on PCN at 7:00 P.M. to answer your questions about his plans to cut your family’s budget by raising taxes in order to increase spending.

CALL: 1-877-PA6-5001 (1-877-726-5001) beginning at 7:00 P.M. so that you can ask Governor Rendell and the Democrats:

• Why Governor Rendell thinks it’s ok to ask you to sacrifice $500 out of your family’s budget when he refuses to decrease the budget of our state government?

• Why Governor Rendell and the Democrats turned down repeated attempts by Republicans in the state Senate and House to begin negotiating a fiscally responsible budget plan before the July 1st deadline?

• Why Governor Rendell has not been able to pass a single budget on time in the past seven years?

• Why Governor Rendell felt the need20to waste more taxpayer dollars to travel across the Commonwealth in order to peddle a 16% hike in the Personal Income Tax?

• Why state House Democrats are refusing to let budget legislation be debated by the full body of the House?

NOW is the time to stand up for fiscal responsibility! Let Governor Ed Rendell and the Democrats in Harrisburg know that you support the Republicans’ and their NO TAX INCREASE plan for Pennsylvania TONIGHT at 7:00 P.M.!
IMPORTANT REMINDER - Lt. Gov. Joe Scarnati to appear on PCN Tonight

Remember to CALL PCN 1-877-PA6-5001 (1-877-726-5001) at 6 p.m. and show your SUPPORT for Lieutenant Governor Joe Scarnati as he leads the fight for a fiscally responsible budget with NO TAX INCREASES! Thank him for fighting for hardworking Pennsylvanians who can't afford another Rendell tax increase.
