Melt the phones: Cap-and-tax target list

Melt the phones: Cap-and-tax target list
By Michelle Malkin • June 26, 2009 12:37 AM

The House will vote on the cap-and-tax bill today. Make your voice heard. Phil Kerpen at AFP has compiled a very helpful list, which I’m reprinting in full here. Check AFP site for latest updates and alerts.

Ask ‘em how they can ram through this eco-boondoggle with EPA hide-and-seek games on global warming science going on unchecked:

We need your help to stop the cap-and-trade energy tax!

The time has finally come for a vote on cap-and-trade, H.R. 2454. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called a vote just before the 4th of July recess, hoping to use the specter of keeping everyone in DC and ruining their holiday, to force cap-and-trade legislation through.

This is the key target list based on our most recent information. If your Congressman is on an undecided or leaning list below PLEASE click here and enter your zip code to get your representative’s number and talking points on this issue.

PS. Any idea how Glenn Thompson is voting? I am surprised not to see his name on the list.

I am heartbroken that 8 republicans voted for this massive expansion of the federal government, at the cost of state and individual rights. In my view, the very act of voting for this bill is a direct violation of their oath of office, to uphold the constitution. Do people realize what this means? I heard a representative of the oil industry commment that the some of the refineries are quietly planning to just shut down if this goes through, because of the direct costs to them to make the changes that would be required - and at the same time drive down demand because of the higher cost of gasoline. Think that importing refined gasoline will be cheaper? NOT!

California zoning, imposed on all the US? Somehow CA just isnt a state we should be emulating... What about state and local rights? Oh, those who voted for this bill don't care about those. Outdoor light with current technology banned? Required energy efficient upgrades for you own home? Think small businesses will stay in business under these conditions? I think we'll end up with only the national businesses that are already in bed with the statists.

We need to make sure people know that they can't believe what they hear on the evening news, that they need to go online and search out real source information. The media is lying to us, complicit with those who covet the power to tell us how to live. We need to fight back, before its too late.
