"You Are NOT Alone!"

I say no to tax cuts, YEA YOU READ THAT!

Yep the title is not a typo I really don't believe in tax cuts. No, I haven't gone over to the dark side. No, I didn't go off my medications again. I've been thinking about the argument over the Bush tax cuts expiring and reaffirming them. Which ones will President Obama keep and which ones will he do away with? What group should get the tax cuts, the rich, poor or the middle class? What classifies middle class vs. rich is it $200,000 for an individual? These types of arguments are useless and do nothing to solve the problem but just put folks into groups, dividing them, and ultimately pitting them against each other. This is an old tactic used by both the left and right around election time to push for votes and to distract us from the real issue we should focus or attention.

I saw we stop arguing about this and make a permanent solution to this thievery, this highway robbery and get to the root of the problem. We must do what so many doctors used to do and that is treat the illness and not the symptoms that arise from the problem. In Federal taxes the symptoms are easy to see, unemployment, the anemic state of manufacturing, and over all reduction of your pay check to pay for everything except what the are Constitutionally allowed. Yes the US Constitution specifies what can be funded through the taxation of the citizens of the States.

Where is this magical little statement? We it's right at the beginning of this great contract the states which was put into effect April 30th 1789. It is in Article I Section 8 "The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States, but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"

You notice the highlighted passage "to pay the debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States". This means in plan English to pay off debt incurred by the United States (this means real money i.e. gold/silver also discussed in Article I ). To pay for the common Defence which refers to paying for the services to defend our borders against foreign invaders (not national building, policing the word, creating an Empire, or enriching the Military industrial complex). The last legal reason to impose a tax, duty, impost or excises deals with the general Welfare of the United States.

Definition as stated in the 1828 edition of Noah Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language.

WEL´FARE, n. [well and fare, a good going; G. wohlfahrt; D. welvaard; Sw. valfart; Dan. velfærd.]

1. Exemption from misfortune, sickness, calamity or evil; the enjoyment of health and the common blessings of life; prosperity; happiness; applied to persons.

2. Exemption from any unusual evil or calamity; the enjoyment of peace and prosperity, or the ordinary blessings of society and civil government; applies to states.

As you can see their are two definitions one referring to personal welfare and another related to society and government. Welfare as defined 40 years after the Constitution was written gives us great insight into what the founders intended. That is the protection from evil and enjoyment of peace. That is the government can use tax funds to protect the citizens rights and not as a way to redistribute wealth.

The only "tax reform" we should work for is the repeal of the !6th Amendment which affords the US the right to collect taxes on personal incomes. This amendment is crimianl as it was initially "advertised" as a tax for the top 1% of wage owners in the US. This took less than a year to change and has been expanding ever since.

When the income tax is eliminate this will be a true stimulus action. The folks who earn money can then save and spend it as they see fit. With this there will be real money to lend to businesses as well as actual jobs created by the increase in the need for services and products. Let's start with this suggetion an just see how well off we could be if government got their hands out of our pocket.
