I have the 5000 year leap, Basic Economics (by Thomas Sowel), the Federalist Papers, and quite a few other books of interest. I would like to read American Progressivism, Mark Levin's new book (the title escapes me), Democracy in America, the Forgotten Man. If anyone has those books and is willing to loan them out, I would appreciate it.

I read a lot, so here's a short list of the titles that I have that fit into our group, Glenn Beck suggested and otherwise. I recommend some over others (represented by a * rating out of 4):
The 5000 Year Leap**** (lent out)
Liberal Fascism *** (Jonah Goldberg - lent out)
The Federalist Papers ** (currently reading)
The World is Curved (David Smick - next on the read list)
Rise to Rebellion ** (Jeff Shaara)
The Forgotten Man ** (Amity Shlaes)
The American Revolution ** (Bruce Lancaster)
The Glorious Cause ** (Jeff Shaara)
The Christmas Sweater ********* (Glenn Beck - lent out)

Let me know if you're interested in any of these.

I'd like to borrow the Forgotten Man. Could you bring it to the meeting next week? I'll post a more complete list of my books when I have time.

Ann Larson also said that Larry has an extensive library as well. You will find Larry is a fabulous resource! I am thrilled that he agreed to help with the org structure. You will not find a more solid person and an excellent team player. You don't go as far has he has gone without knowing how to get things done! He will be a huge resource. Is there someone who would be willing to do the database for books to share? How wonderful would that be??? Maybe you could also work with small groups as they get their book groups together.

You guys rock!!

Would you like for me to send a broadcast message to everyone about the lending library? Maybe some have audio format as well.
ke.....again! ;-)

And another thing.....maybe someone could do a book review with the large group just to get folks going.....just like elementary school....3x5 cards and all.
Forgive me for thinking out loud AGAIN!!

Yes, please send out a site-wide message.

I could probably put together a small database, in Access probably. That's what I do for a living. I'll coordinate with the mailing list person and use that list of people as a starting point. Then I'll do a file of books cross-referenced to who owns them. Then cross-referenced to who has borrowed them. Put me on the agenda for the next meeting and I'll ask anyone interested to send me a list of their books.

I think I met Larry, are you talking about Col. Larson? If so, I was hoping to get to know him better. He said he was stationed in South Korea. So was I,

See you Thursday,

Hi All,

I have a few good books you might be interested in:

The 5000 Year Leap
The Forgotten Man (lent to someone now)
America - The Last Best Hope
The Real George Washington
The Real Thomas Jefferson
The Real Ben Franklin

I haven't even read any of "The Real" series yet, but I bought them from the National Center for Constitutional Studies website. They had a great bundle deal and they threw in a pocket Constitution as well. I'm happy to lend to anyone who would like something.

I'd be interested in the "Real" books. I probably won't be able to get started on reading anthing new for a couple of weeks though. I'll be in touch.
