Wow, she says it all, and even has the guts to tell them our arms are to protect us from them as well as criminals and lunatics. I watched a clip from Face the Nation with Wayne LaPierre "debating" (bieing bullied) by "Fast Eddie" Rendell. And even Wayne didn't have the guts to tell that to Ed. Ed kept asking why does someone need an "assualt weapon"? And Wayne kept responding that those weapons are no more "powerful" than a standard hunting rifle. Then Ed asks "Who needs a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds?" And Wayne couldn't answer it. So I sent Fast Eddie an email with this response: The guy who is defending his life, the lives of his family, and his home against a gang of home invaders in the dead of night who just fired his 10th round.
"Come and Take It!"
Good response to Ed Rendell. Too bad he probably didn't read it.
Her example of the man on the roof, with an assault rifle, defending his property from looters was perfect. I don't know Wayne LaPierre (other than as the head of the NRA), but I would hope that someone in his position should be prepared to answer that sort of question - especially in a debate with a gun-control advocate!
