"You Are NOT Alone!"

A Marine Gives Congressman Baird A Few Lessons

I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.

I watched this video at 2:30am and I am surprised I did not wake the neighbors up. I was clapping and cheering at my computer. What this man said is what is on so many of our minds. We want to speak up and be heard. We are tired of being told lies. We are tired of being talked down to. The plans that this liberal administration are pushing on us are NOT sustainable. Why can't they see this?

Hi Susan,

At 2:30 I'm fast asleep! You are right this is a message that many Americans would like to deliver. This man did it well.

Why can't they see this, you ask. I believe the reason is philosophy. Progressives and liberals subscribe to a philosophy based in unreality. Take Bill Clinton's statement, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is." Language is the foundation of civilization, words have meaning. The word "is" (to be) is one of the most fundamental concepts of reason, the concept of identity, the understanding the A = A. People who deal in reality know that A always equals A, but true progressives reject this; they reject the idea that you can understand the world, that there are absolutes, that there is such a thing as truth.

If you try to look at the world from this perspective, you'll find that everything these folks do and say makes sense. If there is no absolute truth, then there are no lies. Unsustainable debt? They can just create more fiat money since there are no absolutes, no gold standard to throttle the presses. Since they, like good communists, believe wealth is created solely by brute labor and not by the mind of men conquering nature and bending it to suit the needs of mankind, they can simply enlist more workers in whatever service is required to support the collective.

There philosophy denies reality and man's mind - this is their premise. If you start from this perspective, all that is happening makes sense, and where it leads becomes clearer, too (Have you read Atlas Shrugged?).

Unfortunately, many Republicans and conservatives are victims of this same philosophy (having been educated in state-run facilities). This is why many only offer compromises with the enemy: they believe the same nonsense, but that remnant of reason they maintain tells them to spend less and so forth. This is why these folks are perhaps our greatest danger.

The gentleman in the video is right, as are you, we are all tired of the lies. To defeat the liars, we must understand the motor that drives them: philosophy.
