"You Are NOT Alone!"

Regarding last night's meeting: The one gentleman's comment about getting in the opposition's face disturbed me a bit. You can't be distinctive if you ape an opponent's boorish behavior. I'd recommend as an alternative that we comport ourselves in compliance with George Washington's Rules of Civility (specifically 1, 19, 49, 58, 65, 67, 74, and 76 - you can Google them for all the rules).

Secondly, I believe that we all need to be operating from the same sheet of music. Our protest must have a theme. When asked, all of our responses should be the same. To that end, I drafted a "30 second commercial" that goes like this: Our nation is founded on the principles of limited and of representative government. Recent actions by our elected officials (Stimulus Bill, Automotive Bailout, etc.) demonstrate that the voice of "We the People" is not being heard by our representatives. Today's Tea Party expresses our discontent with the actions of these representatives and indicates our intention to return to a government that is of the people, by the people and for the people. We plan to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions or their inactions on our behalf.

My thoughts.

Right on Larry! I like the "commercial" statement. Well said. I agree that we all should be on the same page.
