Cap and Trade -- Action You Can Take
July 8th, 2009 by Houston Tea Party Society Organizers
Fellow Patriots,
We need your help to mobilize quickly and defeat Cap & Trade. The Senate Energy and Environmental Committees began hearings on Cap & Trade yesterday, and a Senate Committee vote can take place as soon as the end of the week. To prevent the Cap & Taxers from succeeding, we are working with dozens of tea parties all across the country to call…

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has been a tad concerned about responding to the 2010 Census. “If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps,” she told Fox News last month.…

A growing number of business owners and taxpayers are mobilizing nationwide against the House-approved cap-and-trade energy bill, which would reduce energy consumption but could raise energy prices and harm small businesses.

From today's news, regarding Michael Jackson's memorial service:
"The city of Los Angeles set up a Web site Tuesday to allow fans to contribute money to help the city pay for his Staples Center memorial service. Mayoral spokesman Matt Szabo estimated the service will cost $1.5 million to $4 million".
Unbelievable, a nearly bankrupt local government asking the people to pay for the memorial service of a billionaire!

Today, our battle to pass Audit the Fed through the U.S. Senate has been joined. The first shot was fired on the floor of the Senate tonight by Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina.
Senator DeMint has a well-deserved reputation for taking the battle to the other side in the Senate, and tonight he once again proved why he is such a valuable ally in our fight to bring transparency and accountability to…

37,000 at Dallas Tea Party — and next steps
By Michelle Malkin • July 6, 2009 11:59 AM
I returned from the Dallas Tea Party this weekend inspired and motivated by the massive turnout of citizen activists. The official county estimate of the day-long event’s crowd: 37,000!
The Tea Party organizers aren’t surprised by the MSM games of lowballing numbers. And they are not letting it distract them from their agenda. Behind the scenes, they are mobilizing and…

My husband and I attended the Freedom Fest today at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! They had OVER 500 people in attendance. There was no admission fee, but donations were suggested. They had a speaker on health care, faith, and the economy. It was beautifully decorated, There was live music. The Flag Station was selling flags, There were several printed brochures and they had MANY corporate sponsorships. One company donated enough money to purchase and offer FREE lunches…

Killing cap-and-tax won’t happen without massive resistance and persistence. Gird your loins and get on the phone next week.
Via the Tulsa World, Sen. Inhofe says it’s “dead in the water” — notwithstanding the arrival of a new clown in town:
U.S. Jim Inhofe, who earlier said a criminal investigation “probably should be’’ conducted into allegations the EPA suppressed a climate change report, conceded Tuesday he is not…

This alert from FreedomWorks.org includes links to easily send letters to all of your state officials.
To close a budget gap created by their own fiscal recklessness, Pennsylvania politicians are seeking to implement several tax hikes throughout the state. From Governor Rendell’s proposal to raise state income taxes by 16 percent to a push by county commissioners and the City of Philadelphia for increased sales taxes, the shameless attempts to fleece Pennsylvania taxpayers in…
