ATTENTION State College Area School District Residents
April 13, 7 p.m., Community Meeting on the 2011-12 State College Area School District Budget, Mount Nittany Middle School Auditorium - 656 Brandywine Drive, State College, PA 16801 . The public is invited to a presentation on the proposed 2011-12 budget with an opportunity for public comment.
At Monday’s school board meeting, there was a discussion of the proposed 2011-2012 school budget, with public comment at the end. The audience was filled with teachers and parents. THE COMMENTS CONSISTED OF WE CAN’T CUT THIS, WE CAN’T CUT THAT, WE MUST RAISE TAXES.
THERE WERE NO COMMENTS AGAINST RAISING PROPERTY TAXES FROM TAXPAYERS .
YOUR SCHOOL PROPERTY TAXES will increase at least 1.4% and by remarks made by several school board members, you could very possibly see YOUR SCHOOL PROPERTY TAXES increase by up to 4%.
The mindset of several school board members, teachers and parents seems to be that the school board has the authority to raise taxes up to 4%, and should use that authority.
IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP FOR OUR PROPERTY RIGHTS AND LET THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AND SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS KNOW HOW WE FEEL.
PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING ON WEDNESDAY AND UPCOMING SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS.
